Teaching

I have been teaching evening classes and summer schools at both Edinburgh College of Art and Leith School of Art since graduating back in 2002. I really enjoy helping students to create their very own pieces of jewellery. If this is something you would be interested in then please contact me for further details.

Private Tuition

I also offer one to one tuition in my studio, with each student recieving a personal lesson tailored to their own needs. Starting from very basic techniques such as saw-piercing sheet metal and learning how to solder,  students can progress to more complicated techniques such as bezel setting stones. I have had students who have made some jewellery in the past but would like to learn a new specific technique. I have also had students who just want a bit of advice on how to improve pieces to take them to the next step of selling to the public. If this is something which you are interested in then please contact me for more details.

I have also expanded my teaching to Africa, having been across to Kenya in association with the Johari Foundation in 2008 where I was teaching girls in Nairobi. Johari Designs is a Social Enterprise run by Johari Foundation, Kenya. Young adults from the Johari Apprenticeship Programme learn tailoring and jewellery-making which give life enhancing skills leading to on-going employment and economic opportunities.
